TESTING SERVICES FOR HOMESCHOOLERS
Testing for homeschoolers is available using the California Achievement Test, 5th Edition. Dates and locations are listed below.

CHOOSING THE BEST LEVEL FOR YOUR CHILD
Each test covers a range of ability levels and parents may choose the test which best fits their child's abilities. Children who are eight years old and testing for the first time should take either level 12 or 13. Students who have mastered second grade level reading and are well into third grade abilities should probably take the level 13, while those who are not yet reading fluently should probably take the level 12 test.
Older students should be tested according to the current grade level of their work. This usually corresponds to their age, but sometimes does not. For example, if you have a student working at a higher grade level, you will get the best assessment of their abilities by using a higher level of test. In the spring use the test level for the grade they are completing, and in the fall use the test level for the grade they are beginning. Allowances are made in the scoring for the beginning and end of the year and you will obtain the most accurate results by following these guidelines. If you are uncertain about which test to use, e-mail or call us with your questions or concerns.

Students will be issued a test booklet to use during the testing session. Answers are written on a separate sheet. Students are asked to treat the materials with care. Booklets that are written in or defaced must be replaced for $15 per book. Students must be supervised during scoring to allow parents to focus on scoring. Your signature indicates an agreement to this responsibility.
